A new mysterious watch, DX黒い妖怪ウォッチ / the Deluxe Kuroi Yo-kai Watch (黒い / kuroi means dark and black), will begin appearing in the anime in February (Japan only)! A new watch and toy line will also release in Japan on February 18th with lots of spooky new metals (黒い妖怪メダル / Kuroi Yo-kai Medals) to match. If you set these new dark medals into the new watch, spooky versions of your favorite yokai will be summoned! Are these spooky dark versions of our yokai friends the real them?
The Dark Yo-kai Watch is not the usual type of watch you’ve been spoiled with, the world around you becomes just little bit darker. What is this new watch used for? It’s the beginning of a new plan to turn each and every human into a yo-kai. The Kuroi Yo-kai Watch reaches out and gobbles up a human, and what it spits back out is a new yo-kai! Like (けむし男) Caterpillar Boy. The watch can also summon our yokai friends with new dark summoning songs.

We saw this in the store today. I haven’t seen it in the show yet, but we haven’t been watching much recently either. We bought a pack of the medals. I can try to get pics tomorrow if people want to see.
